Sport

ASA Gala Days and

DDAC actively participates in ASA Gala Days.  These Gala days focus on the sports of Futsal, Touch Football and Basketball.  DDAC supports this sport focus by way of integrating the skill development required in a programmed sport time on a Friday afternoon thereby allowing students to gain confidence, build team culture and develop enthusiasm for these sports.

Friday afternoon Sport

Friday afternoon sport’s program is an annual cycle allowing for each year level to have specific focus on each of the three sports listed above along with a service element.  In fact, each year level will have one Term intentionally focused on how they can serve in their community; growing food in our Kitchen Garden for the Soup Kitchen, supporting single parents or the elderly with jobs around the house, supporting our Primary Chaplain with Primary Chapel by way of music, technical support etc.

House Culture

Students at DDAC are allocated to either Neibuhr, Caldwell or Barnett.  Building a strong house culture is important to us as a school.  Opportunities will be provided throughout the year for students and families to be a part of their Sports House.  We will start the year with a community Swimming Carnival where we invite families to come along and not only support their student but also connect.  House picnic lunches will be run throughout the year to provide the opportunity for each house to bond.
