Year 5/6 Team Up for the Environment

On Thursday the 14th of November, the Year 5/6 class ran their inaugural Market Day Stalls in the primary courtyard to raise money for a charity chosen by the class.

Students worked in small groups to plan their goods or services, organise a no-interest loan through the classroom funds and purchase the required materials. On the day, students set up their stalls and waited for their customers to arrive. Many students and staff came to support the Market Day Stalls throughout lunchtime, buying a variety of the products that were available. After the Market Stalls, students paid back their loans, and the money was counted.

Collectively the class raised $327.10 in profit, which will be given to support the planting of new trees to help look after the environment.
