Swimming Superstars
On the 11th of February we had our Primary Swimming Carnival. Everyone from years 3-6 caught the bus to Glennie Swimming Pool. When we got there, we all got into our house colours and then Mr. Hansen told us what the rules were. We all got ready for the swimming races by putting our caps on. First up we had Freestyle 25m and 50m swimming races. Then we did Breaststroke 25m and 50m swimming races. After that we did Backstroke 25m and 50m swimming races. Then we had Butterfly 25m and 50m swimming races. Finally, we had 100m Freestyle swimming races. After that, we had a lunch break. Then we had the House Captains from each team pick the 4 fastest swimmers from each age group. For the girl's relay race, Barnett won and for the boy's relay race, Neibuhr won.
Here are what some students had to say about what they like about the Swimming Carnival:
“Cheering for our team and trying our best!”
“Competing in all the races.”
“Winning all the races!”
“You could do what events you wanted to do, and the pool was warm, and fun.”
“Having fun with my friend and cheering for people and watching people swim.”
It was a really fun day, and everyone tried their best!
