Records Fall at Secondary Athletics Carnival

A stunningly beautiful winter’s day made it easy for us to enjoy a really great Secondary Athletics Day at the O’Quinn Oval on July 24. The sunshine might have inspired the many records that fell as well! It was wonderful to have a shady area for each house this year - thanks to some generous donations from Global Roto-Moulding. It was also great to have some parents and grandparents drop in to see how their kids were progressing. A big thank you goes to all those students who gave it their best and the good sportsmanship that was exhibited - it is so good to see you ‘giving it everything you’ve got’! Thanks also must go to parent, Jane Sippel, who was a huge support all day. Past student, Natasha Irianto, was also a great help too. Congratulations to the age champions - sometimes the competition is so close there are only a couple of points between champ and runner-up. Congratulations to those who broke records - it’s always exciting to see that happen. Finally, congratulations to Barnett House for taking out top points for the day. Neibuhr and Caldwell Houses will have to wait another year to challenge their dominance!
