Primaries make a Splash

On Thursday, February 13, primary students in Years 3-6 had their swimming carnival at the Glennie Pool. Students are allocated between three houses: Caldwell (red), Neibuhr (blue) and Barnett (yellow) - all named after former DDCS Principals. House loyalty was evident as students came dressed in their house colour, or sporting some creative red/blue/yellow accessories! There was much excitement as they participated in the various events and cheered their team mates on. Students displayed great sportsmanship and there were many examples of our "You Can Do It" keys of Confidence, Persistence, Resilience and Getting Along. A big thank you to parents and friends who also came to support and assist; and to Miss Litster and Mr Hansan as event co-ordinators.

Caldwell were the victors on the day with 525 points, followed by Neibuhr on 415 points and Barnett on 373 points. Well done to everyone who participated and congratulations to the age winners and runners-up who were presented with their medallions at Primary Assembly on Monday morning. Three cheers for the primaries. Hip Hip Hooray; Hip Hip Hooray; Hip Hip HOORAAAY!
